1. Postage in the UK
Postage and packing is £4.95 per order for orders up to and including £70 in value to the UK.
Postage is free for orders over £70 in value (not including postage) to the UK. Make your order up to over £70 in value to save on the cost of postage!
2. Cost of Sending Rolled Paper
Rolled gift wrap (or artists paper) is sent in a mailing tube and has to be sent at Medium Parcel rates due to the size of the paper and the length of the tube (56 cm). The minimum cost of a Medium Parcel sent 1st class in the UK is currently £5.70 (June 2017), for only 1 sheet of paper! It would still be £5.00 if sent 2nd class. The cost of the tube is about £1 bought in bulk. Therefore, the P&P cost to us is £6.70 or more, not the £4.95 that we currently charge...
Rolled paper orders where the order value is less than £12 will usually be sent by 2nd class post, unless Special Delivery has been purchased.
3. Delivery charges to Europe and the rest of World (that is, countries outside the UK)
We ship orders to all countries in the world and currently have customers in over 65 countries. However, with increased cost of freight and postage, especially outside Europe, we need to cover our post & packing costs.
If you are ordering from the USA, Canada or from Europe, you can contact us either via the Contact Form or by email to email@example.com for a quotation. We will then send you a Paypal invoice for any additional transport costs. This can be paid by credit card, debit card or by Paypal. If at this point you do not wish to proceed with your order, we will refund your payment in full.
Indicative costs of delivery to Europe and to the rest of the world including USA, Canada and Australia are provided here.
Our delivery charges in the UK and abroad are subject to external costs incurred from carriers and packaging suppliers and may change without notice.
4. Fulfilment and Delivery times
On receipt of your cleared payment, your order will be packed and sent to you by the UK’s Royal Mail or Airmail postal services. We aim to send most orders within 3 to 5 working days.
Delivery is by the Royal Mail’s First Class post for most UK orders* or by Second Class post for Rolled Gift Wrap and Artists papers sent in tubes.
Royal Mail's international Airmail letter or packet services are used for overseas orders (or by courier for larger orders). These are essentially Monday to Friday business hours services and therefore consignment at a post office usually takes place on a working day (Monday to Friday) following receipt of payment. There is no service on UK public holidays.
* Rolled paper sent in tubes and UK orders over 1.7 kg in weight (and low value orders - see #2 above) may be sent by Second Class post. Our tubes are sent by Royal Mail's Medium or Large Parcel services in the UK due to their length.
Note that order fulfilment is from the UK and therefore delivery times are greater to addresses abroad than they are within the UK. The Royal Mail claims that it aims to deliver First Class post in the UK within 1-2 days but in our experience delivery may take at least several days longer (and up to a week). Significantly, the Post Office will only accept complaints for non-delivery after 15 working days (i.e. 3 weeks) from the due delivery date...
The Royal Mail’s suggested delivery aim for Europe is 3-5 working days and for the USA and the rest of the world is 5-7 working days (i.e. not including weekends and public holidays). However, the same caveats around actual practice and the same rules regarding complaints of non-delivery apply. The Post Office will only accept complaints for non-delivery 20 working days (i.e. 4 weeks) after the due delivery date (a total of 5 weeks) for Europe.
For the USA and rest of world, the Post Office will only accept complaints for non-delivery 25 working days (i.e. 5 weeks) after the due delivery date (a total of 6+ weeks). In our experience, delivery may take 4-6 weeks, to some countries.
We would therefore suggest that you wait at least 2 weeks before advising of any non-delivery to a UK address and at least 4 weeks for an overseas order. Most orders are delivered very rapidly and efficiently but occasional delays in postal delivery occur. These are outside of our control.
5. Urgent Deliveries in the UK
If you require a Confirmed Delivery or an Urgent Delivery in the UK, we can send your packet or parcel by Royal Mail’s Special Delivery services. Special Delivery ‘Next Day Guaranteed by 1 p.m.’ will generally cost £6-£7 more than our standard delivery service for small packets and parcels up to 2 kg (including all packaging). Saturday delivery and 9 a.m. services are also available but they are more expensive. Add a note or send us an email when you make your order if you require any of these services.
6. Urgent or Tracked Deliveries abroad (outside the UK)
For Confirmed and Tracked delivery services to addresses outside the UK, see the note on International Tracked & Signed services on the Overseas Delivery page.
