More about our A4 & A3 Thick Handmade Paper Most of our handmade computer paper is from the bark of the Lokta bush, Daphne papyracea, and is a smooth-finished A4 or A3-size printer paper with machine-cut edges, suitable for use in inkjet and laser printers. It is a lokta thick paper of 100-130 gsm but feeds easily through your printer.
Making handmade greetings cards Our thick handmade papers are suitable for making greeting cards and invitations, especially when folded in two or in four. The important characteristics for card making are the stiffness and thickness of the paper, rather than weight, although weight (as gsm) is usually quoted because it is easy to measure.
Making postcards Our thick printer papers are designed for use in computer printers, but we would not advise the use of any card in a home or non-commercial computer printer if it is genuinely thick enough and stiff enough for use as a postcard on its own. We suggest that you print on one of the heavyweight papers on this page and then pop the cut card in a handmade lokta paper envelope for an invite or notice that is quick to prepare and very special for the recipient.
